Synopsis

Three Pomaks tell us about the 'Revival Process' in Bulgaria while we follow their everyday life.

Three Pomaks who lived through Bulgaria’s communist era recount their memories of the so-called 'Revival Process' - the state’s attempt to forcibly sever them from their Islamic faith and traditions. Told without accusation, their revelations unfold through moments of loss and tenderness, interwoven with the rhythms of their present-day lives.

Director's biography

Radost Tsvetkova is a third-year student at the Bulgarian National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA). Coming from a scientific family background, she initially studied at the Sofia High School of Mathematics, where she discovered that her true interest was not in mathematics or physics, but in storytelling.
She is primarily drawn to documentary and narrative cinema, with a focus on intimate, character-driven stories that might otherwise remain untold. Alongside her academic work, she has directed music videos and commercials. One of her television advertisements produced as a NATFA project was broadcast nationally in Bulgaria.
